A Holy Different Perspective on St Andrews!

As Scots celebrate St Andrew’s Day on November 30th, VisitScotland’s Business Tourism Unit honours the town named after the patron saint and highlights just some of its first-class corporate venues. A stunning medieval city, the international home of golf and one of Scotland’s finest coastal towns, St Andrew’s boasts a varied and unique conferencing portfolio for the business traveller to enjoy:

St Andrews University, New School of Medicine

The third oldest university in the English-speaking world and one of the UK's most prestigious, St Andrews University has unveiled its biggest and most ambitious project this year with the opening of its brand new medical school. Based at the heart of its science campus, the £45 million cutting edge building offers a fresh new option for association conferences.

Strathtyrum House

Those searching for a historic, exclusive-use venue should look no further than St Andrew’s luxurious Strathtyrum House. Built in 1782 for the ‘Cheape Family’, and still owned by the family today, this beautiful house is situated opposite the famous Old Course. The private estate is conveniently positioned for all St Andrews Links courses, proving a popular option for business delegates who like to do business on the golf course.

Old Course Hotel

Bordering the renowned 17th ‘Road Hole’ of the Old Course, the Old Course Hotel enjoys a spectacular location overlooking the famous links courses, the West Sands beach and the beautiful Scottish coastline. The resort has a range of conference and banqueting facilities including executive boardrooms, an elegant Ballroom, and a self-contained conference centre providing a flexible, modern space, perfect for any corporate event.

Kinkell Byre

For an extraordinary venue, Kinkell Byre is a highly versatile complex of rustic function venues, converted from existing byres and stables at Kinkell Farm, just outside St. Andrews. Situated next to the Fairmont St Andrews Hotel, Kinkell Byre commands spectacular views over St Andrews Bay. Retaining many of the buildings’ original features, the venue offers an atmospheric space to host functions and events catering from 20 to 1000 people.
