Meetings in the Festival City

World-renowned as a festival city and the place to be in August, Edinburgh is also a truly inspiring destination for meetings and incentives and home to some of the leading hotels, museums and purpose-built conference centres in Scotland.

As the Edinburgh International Festival (EIF) launches today (Friday, 12 August), and with the Edinburgh Festival Fringe already in full swing, we take a look at some festival venues which also offer the ideal location for your next corporate event in Scotland’s capital city.

The fantastic new and upgraded facilities include a cafe bar and modern, versatile function spaces that overlook the stunning, original Edwardian architectural features. Edinburgh Zoo is one of the city’s leading tourist attractions and a unique venue for the Fringe in 2011.  The Mansion House at Edinburgh Zoo is a truly remarkable venue, offering a special touch to any meeting or event with access to over 1,000 wonderful animals!   Edinburgh Zoo is getting set to welcome two giant pandas, due to arrive by the end of 2011.

The Mansion House, dating back more than two hundred years, stands at the heart of the park, which extends over 80 acres of beautiful hillside parkland, facing south with stunning views across to the Pentland hills.  The rooms in the Mansion House are ideal for up to 60 delegates, but the Zoo can also offer conference and presentation facilities for up to 200 delegates in the Education Centre, just one minute’s walk away. And for something truly different, the Zoo’s Budongo Trail – the world’s largest chimpanzee enclosure – has a very special boardroom overlooking the chimps’ internal play areas.
