Scottish Venues Fit for a Queen

As the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee approaches, we round up Scotland’s top venues with a Royal connection.

Stirling Castle

Perched high on craggy rocks, Stirling Castle was a favourite residence of Scotland’s Stewart kings and queens. Today, Historic Scotland makes it available to clients for meetings, receptions, events and banquets of all kinds.

The majestic James V Palace has recently been restored to how it looked in its 16th century heyday and is available for exclusive hire for corporate events. The Castle also boasts Scotland’s largest restored banqueting hall which can accommodate up to 400 people. Groups can enjoy medieval gala dinners and entertainment provided by costumed performers in the role of guards and ladies in waiting, enabling guests to step back into the court life of the 1540s.

Royal Yacht Britannia

Having played host to more than its fair share of kings, queens, presidents and prime ministers, the world famous Royal Yacht Britannia is now permanently berthed in Edinburgh.

Whatever the occasion, an invitation to enjoy Britannia’s incomparable style and elegance never fails to impress. Exclusive dinners for 176 and elegant receptions for 380 can now be hosted in the elegant State Apartments and stunning Royal Deck with all food freshly prepared in the Royal Galley on board.

Glamis Castle

Birthplace of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and legendary setting for Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Glamis Castle is a stunning stalwart of Scottish hospitality. Situated within easy reach of the golfing gems of ‘Carnoustie Country’ this romantic castle has entertained countless Royals and continues to be popular with corporate and incentive guests.

Thanks to its Royal heritage and beautiful setting, Glamis adds a touch of regal flare to every event, whether it is hosting an exclusive gala dinner for up 90 guests, a personalised tour or an intimate VIP lunch. And with extensive grounds, the estate is well-suited to outdoor events and teambuilding activities of all kinds.
