VisitScotland Business Tourism Hosts Inaugural 'Meet in Scotland' Event

Perthshire is still basking in the glow of The Ryder Cup, with the global golf event at Gleneagles being hailed as arguably the best in the history of the competition.

And it’s not just the famous five-star resort that will benefit from The Ryder Cup. With stunning shots of the region being beamed around the world, Perthshire’s numerous other venues, attractions and activity providers could also be set to reap the rewards of the competition’s global exposure.

One such venue is Crieff Hydro Hotel & Resort, which boasts 12 flexible function spaces. Set in 900 acres of countryside estate, there are more than 60 outdoor activities to choose from, including horse riding, shooting and Segways.

On 9-10 October, the hotel will host more than 30 buyers from the UK and Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France during VisitScotland’s inaugural ‘Meet in Scotland’ event.

The appointment-driven workshop will give venues, hotels and other service providers the chance to meet with targeted qualified buyers from across Europe and UK to discuss future MICE business. In addition to the workshop, there will be opportunity for further networking over dinner at The Famous Grouse Experience.

The following day, buyers will take part in a range of activities including mini Highland Games and off-road Segways on the Crieff Hydro estate.

Complete with all the latest facilities and catering for up to 200 guests, Scotland’s oldest distillery is an ideal location for every scale of corporate event, even giving visitors the chance to seal and label their very own bottle.

One of the newest venues to add to Perthshire’s rich collection is the Byre at Inchyra. Originally built as a cattle byre on the Inchyra Estate, it has been transformed into an all-purpose events venue.

Vaulted timber roofs, rough stone walls and original stone cattle troughs are combined with a state-of-the-art sound and light system, full wifi access and easy accessibility, making the Byre a unique setting for smaller conferences.
